Come Chat With Gabby Greta!

This little girl is full of love and will tell you all about it. She has been a perfect addition to my home. She is polite and playful with my cat, Jojo; respects furniture she shouldn’t scratch on; and absolutely loves to cuddle!

I love coming home to her cute little chirps and she immediately starts rubbing her head wherever she can reach to show me how happy she is to have a person home. After playing chase and tussle with Jojo, she’s ready to settle down. She will curl up with or near you wherever you are and she loves to sleep on a pillow beside you at night.

Don’t forget what a great conversationalist she is! As long as you’re willing to talk with her, she’ll keep chatting with you – that is unless you’re scratching her behind her ears and she gets too sleepy.

If you’d like to chat with Gabby Greta, call (919) 560-0640 x.8 or email catinfo@apsofdurham.org.

ADOPTED! Shirley Steps Out

I've been in a cage since October! I know what you're thinking. "Shirley, you must be joking." Well it's true, and no one can seem to understand why. I'm a very sweet kitten. I just want to snuggle all day. Or chase a ball. I'm a really good chaser!

When I came to the shelter, I had three siblings with me. I remember that we were all really scared. The shelter was warm and had food, but there weren't very many people to play with and I didn't get to run around like I wanted. One by one, my brothers and sisters went away. The Lady says that they all got adopted and have gone to their new "homes". I'm not sure what a home is yet, but the Lady says that someday a person will come along and give me a home of my very own.

Until I get a home, I'm staying with the Lady and my foster friend Chelsea. Chelsea is bigger than me, but we're still good friends. In fact, I like pretty much any cat that I meet. I really like people too. They have these things called "laps"! Laps are the most wonderful thing in the world. They are the best spot for sleeping.

It's not so bad staying with the Lady, but I want one of those "home" things. Chelsea says having a home means having people around all the time who take good care of you and pet you and play with you. That doesn't sound too bad to me! Will you be the person who gives me a home?

ADOPTED!! Angelo has fun meeting friends @ The Regulator Bookshop!

Angelo had a great time meeting and greeting at The Regulator Bookshop last Sunday. He was mostly content to relax in my lap (or whoever was willing to hold him), BUT every time he heard to cash register ring, he wanted to investigate! He's such a sweet cat and fun too!

ADOPTED!! Dynamic Duo Chad & Amber

Chad and Amber are such a perfect pair. He's bold and adventurous; she's shy and demure and together they play their little hearts out!Chad will come out bravely to meet new people, while Amber may take while to warm up. Having her best friend Chad with her helps her feel more comfortable. Before long she'll sit in your lap or curl up beside you, purring while you pet her.

Why two are better than one:
Two cats provide each other with exercise, social interaction, and mental stimulation. Cats housed together have more opportunity to “just be cats” by socializing and playing with each other, and this means they are less likely to be destructive or engage in other problematic behaviors. Another benefit of having two cats is that they are sometimes cleaner than “single” cats. Cats will groom each other’s ears and coats, often getting at places they can’t reach on their own!

Take a look at Chad & Amber playing!

ADOPTED!! Jerry is crazy cool!

Jerry is living with us now because he just needed some "extra time" to relax. He is a love bug and a wiggle worm and he wants attention but on his terms! So "uncat" like, don't you agree?!?! He just loves to play with our 5 cats and he will play with our little dog Abby if he can't find any other distraction. Jerry loves our cat condo and plays on it a good part of the day when he isn't chasing toys or using the scratching post. His eyes are just stunning and he is very sleek looking. An Egyptian grey and white cat! We are enjoying having Jerry visit with us but I'm sure he would love a permanent place to call home. As we get to know Jerry a little better I'll add more information and photos. We tried to take some pictures the other night and he was in full blown play mode so that didn't happen!

ADOPTED!! Fun & Cuddles with Angelo!

Despite his small size, Angelo is tons of fun - and he knows it! He loves to run, jump, toss and roll around. He'll chase after anything that moves...and a few things that don't. He is so entertaining!

He's also super cuddly. When you pick him up he goes completely limp in your arms like a rag doll and he loves to be loved on.

Angelo is a really great cat looking for a cat loving home. He'd love to have a friend to play with. Don't worry if you don't already have a cat, he'd love for you to adopt him and one of his buddies at APS. That will suit him just fine!

ADOPTED!! Sierra & Chrissie Have Gotten Big Enough to Adopt!

Sierra
Chrissie
Sierra and Chrissie came to APS at the beginning of July as teeny-tiny kittens who needed lots of care. They went into one of our foster homes to get all the attention they needed and now they're finally big enough to adopt! Their foster mom, Kathy, says they're great playmates and are a lot of fun to watch play.
